What did we do?

In the first week we completed our fablab safetly quiz, to allow us to get access to the lab

Safety is our number one priority when it comings to handing any equiments or just being in the workshop or laboratories.

Below show the things we have to take note in the laboratories or workshop


1 ) Dresscode

Dresscode places an important role in our safety as it helps us to minimise the chances of any accident happening in the laboratories or workshop

2 ) Housekeeping

    1. Always return it back to their designated positions in the tool racks.
    2. Always keep the workplace neat and orderly after use.
    3. Always clear away the debris and chips off the machines or workbenches after use.
    4. Always bring unused or leftover materials to the recycle area.


3 ) Safety Symbols

4 ) Rules and Regulations

Some Safety and Regulations in the Fablab and Workshops such as,

    1.Never remove chips when the spindle is rotationg,
    2.Not leaning on any moving parts when the machine is in operation
    3.Wearing the right attire, such as short sleeved shirt , long pants , covered shoe
    4.Knowing the locations of emergency exits or emergency stop button
    5.Keep your work area clean before leaving the laboratory/workshop

5 ) Emergency Procedures 🆘

If the alarm sounds while working, IMMEDIATELY STOP WORK and WAIT for instructions from Staff-in-charge!

If an uncontrollable fire starts in Fab Lab, IMMEDIATELY INFROM everyone in the lab to leave

In the event of an emergency, seek assistance from the staff in-charge, if staff is not around, call 📞,
    1. SP emergency hotline, 6772-1234
    2. Ambulance/SCDF at 995, Police at 999
